Oranga Tamariki has developed an interactive mobile app – Talanoa Mai – to support staff in their day-to-day work when working with Pacific children, young people and their families.
It is also known as an Oranga Tamariki Pacific Competency Guide. There is the option of 6x languages to choose from. It gives cultural information and lots of words and phrases to use. If you touch the words, you get the pronunciation as well. It may be something you might want to download and use when interacting with your Pacific cases.
